Where the data comes from
Darwin is the rail industry's train-running engine. It merges timetables, signalling data and operator updates into one live picture of the network, and it has been available under an open licence since 2014. The boards on this site query it directly, so what you see here matches the screens on the platform.
Station locations and codes come from open industry reference data, and the passenger numbers on station pages are the ORR's official usage estimates.
